Recollections En Route: Changing of the Seasons + Life Updates

Well, it’s Autumn here in South Korea. In fact, if temperature is any indication of the season, we are already on the edge of winter here in early November. Autumn is my absolute favorite season in the world. That is, with the exception of the holiday season in New York City. Regardless, as fate would have it, I’ve been stuck in bed, sick, for the past two weeks… And while admiring the leaves changing colors from the window in my small studio apartment is less than ideal, I’ll take what I can get.  Continue Reading

A Photo Diary: Singapore

Crazy Rich Asians only just entered movie theaters here in South Korea. Therefore, Gena and I immediately purchased tickets on opening weekend and had a few laughs. These laughs were completely independent from the rest of the audience sitting in silence {due to the humor of some jokes getting lost in translation}. For anyone that has watched an English movie in an Asian movie theater, you know what I’m talking about. Regardless, it was a spectacular film based in the one and only Singapore!  Continue Reading

Video: 3 Days in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This week, I had planned to film and upload an update video after 8 months of living in South Korea. In fact, for the longest time {including just a couple of years ago} my photos were over saturated, poorly framed, and unoriginal. While it can still be a struggle to create original takes on popular destinations, it’s refreshing to stumble upon {fairly} ‘new’ territory and let the creative juices flow. And yet that’s exactly what happened in Singapore when I ventured into the neighborhood of Joo Chiat. Continue Reading

40 Photos to Inspire you to Visit Kuala Lumpur

Photo diaries are some of my favorite blog posts to click on. They really provide you with an overall vibe of a destination from a unique perspective. Or, sometimes, a not so unique perspective. It’s true that this day in age so many bloggers and Instagrammers alike are constantly gaining inspiration from one another – sometimes to a fault. Continue Reading

Solo Travel to Malaysia: What I Would Do Differently

My first impressions after visiting my first Islamic country* went a lot like this: walk off the plane,  hop on the subway, realize no one else is wearing anything that resembles a grey, sleeveless, jumpsuit, feel embarrassed, disembark the subway, enter the chaotic streets of Kuala Lumpur, and state out loud to absolutely no one, “Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Thailand anymore”. Or something like that. Continue Reading
