BUSINESS OR PLEASURE

So, I’m home.

In my California home. And boy, have I been busy. A lot of it is due to the fact that I need distractions. But it is mainly because I want to surround myself with the human beings I haven’t seen in almost a year, if not longer. I’ve had girls nights, carried out traditional ‘before Thanksgiving’ dinners, concerts to attend, mimosa brunches to be had, company holiday parties of companies I don’t work for, and saying ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’ to one of my oldest friends as he left for Afghanistan.

Most recently, I flew down to San Diego.

I had a plan, before I left for my worldly adventure, of moving down to San Diego upon returning home. I mean, what could you want more from a place? Beaches, city life, and ideal weather 97% of the year. You’re close to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Mexico. So I’ve been applying for jobs and taking the chance at interviewing whenever possible.

But there are so many other places in the world that are calling out to my heart. Luckily, I have the luxury at this point in my life to take my time on making a decision when it comes to relocating. My parents are the best, and have allowed me to live with them {rent free} while I try to figure out this little thing called life at 25 years old. I no longer have a relationship to consider when weighing the options of my next move. I have the freedom to make a decision that is going to make me,

and solely me,

happy.

I have always led with my gut. Which sounds like I focus my entire life around consuming food if you read that in a literal sense. But my intuition and that ‘gut feeling’ have never let me down, thus far in my life. Even when the rest of my life seems in shambles, my gut has been the one thing I can trust and hold on to.

So this decision will not be dealt with any differently.

I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life, whatever that may be.

If I have learned anything this year, it is the world is a smaller place than it once was. And you can truly do anything you set your mind to.  You just have to make a decision, and want it badly enough.

The blog is also in need of a change.

I still have so many memories of Europe and beyond that have yet to be shared. Unfortunately, these memories were shared with someone who is no longer a character in my book. Those chapters need to remain closed until I am ready to re-read the pages and share them with the world.

So for now,

“Welcome to California!”

As I continue to balance business and pleasure here in California, I want to share as much of my home state with you as possible. Wine tasting, redwood forests, and beaches galore.

As far as the rest of it, just stay tuned.
